DIGITAL security + SAFE travelling

"Nowadays, security is the No 1 issue.. "

Nowadays pick-pocketing has become electronic. Electronic pick-pocketing refers to the stealing of credit card information from credit card holders in a public place using wireless technologies. It is a form of identity theft and the people-hackers behind it are usually called “digital thieves”.

Μany credit cards embed an RFID chip that enables information to be transmitted to contactless payment systems. Credit cards with RFID chips only require proximity for the data to be transmitted wirelessly. Hence, hackers with an NFC enabled mobile phone, a card-reading app and by standing close to the holder, could easily swipe information from credit cards, driver’s licenses, access cards and passports.

In Queen’s Protocol we take security from electronic pick-pocketing very seriously. Hence an RFID blocking pocket as an inside zip compartment has been incorporated in all Queen’s Protocol bags, to protect from card clash and contactless identity card theft.

This inner pocket could work as a Card Clash protection compartment as well. Card clash is a very common thing on a daily basis especially across the UK.

Credit and debit cards are being charged without the knowledge of the holder through contactless payments. If you touch your smart travel card like UK’s Oyster card on a card reader when it's in the same wallet or purse as one or more contactless payment cards, the reader may detect more than one card not knowing which one to read and to take payment from. As a result the reader could take payment from a card that you did not intend to pay with or being charged two maximum fares for your travel or if you are at a ticket gate, it may not open.

This can be prevented if the contactless cards are been separated.

By placing the contactless card (debit/credit card) in the inside pocket of a Queen’s Protocol bag, prevents them from being read. Hence the holder could choose which card to have inside the RFID blocking pocket and block it and which card will have outside and use it.
